If communication is so important, why isn't everyone studying it?

Proverbs 25:11 This week on The Talk Talk Show on the Communication Comedy Network, I'm asking the question, "If communication is so important, why isn't everyone studying it?"  In my seminars I ask how many think communication skills are important for every day life.  Just about everyone in the audience will raise their hand.  However, when I ask my next question, I get puzzled looks:  How many of you have studied communication skills or are teaching them to your children? In whom is your confidence?

Many coaches and self-help gurus tell folks to believe in themselves and they will accomplish great things.  But God says believe in Jesus and you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you! While I don't discount that confidence can help achievement, my confidence comes from the Lord.  My trust is in Him and my belief is in Jesus.  Having confidence can only take you so far in life's journey.  Your faith and belief in God Almighty is what can carry you through the rest of the way. How Important is Communication in your every day life?

I've asked this very question at countless seminars I've given.  Most people say that communication is very important in their lives.  However, when I ask if anyone ever took a communication class or studied communication skills or taught their children effective communication, I get one of three answers: 1.
