Yogiisms are, of course, famous sayings by Yogi Berra.  Many of the things he has said seem silly at first glance, but upon further inspection, are actually brilliant!  Take a look at this one: "You can observe a lot just by watching." -Yogi Berra One of the problems in communication is that we don't always slow down long enough to pay close attention to others.  We are so caught up in our own "stuff" that we don't often take the time to really see others.  We may not notice their pain, a way we can help, an opportunity to share and connect.  Yogi's seemingly obvious statement is actually a pearl of wisdom, a pearl of communication wisdom we would do...

Best Foot Forward

Always deal with others in grace as the Lord does with us because none but He is perfect.  Remember that, even when we put our best foot forward, we have to take another step. Often we ask for grace for our own missteps while not granting that grace to others.  This causes a misstep of quite another kind:

Last day with my daughter

It's been a wonderfully precious summer having my college girl home these last few months, but alas, it's coming to an end.  It's difficult to give her up once more now that I have become accustomed to her being home again.  They grow up so fast.  It seems there is hardly time to know them as adults before they are off to college 1800 miles away.  She may have internships the next two summers and will be an exchange student in Russia for a semester next year so I don't know how much time we will get to spend with her these next two years. My advice to any mom, homeschooling or not, is to cherish and treasure your time...
