The countdown continues today with another great one from the Trans Siberian Orchestra: CHRISTmas Cannon Rock! A slightly different version than another in the countdown. This one has some beautiful CHRISTmas scenes to share. These scenes are as if out of a picture book. I love this video. Looking at it makes me think of peaceful times. It fills my heart with the beauty that the Lord created and I love to envision a life filled with peace and beauty. We all strive for that Picture Perfect CHRISTmas and often fall quite short. Sometimes we don't achieve it because of circumstances beyond our control. Other times, the fact that we race around in a frenzy to complete the tasks that...
Today is Friday Funnies and, coincidentally, there have been a few songs/videos through the years that bring humor to CHRISTmas. Making it's second appearance on the countdown is the adorable old song, I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas. We don't do Santa and I know many of you reading don't either, but this is just an adorable song. I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas is a Christmas novelty song written by John Rox and performed by Gayla Peevey (10 years old at the time) in 1953. The song peaked at number 24 on Billboard magazine's pop chart in December 1953. Remember, too, to have fun and build memories with your family this CHRISTmas. It's important to communicate what you want-even...
Celine Dion's version of O Holy Night has been on the AoE countdown for the entire six years. Her voice is simply incredible and this version is my favorite.
Some people are blessed with some talent and others are drenched in it. What a treasure that they share it with us!
If you know someone with an incredible talent for something who is sharing it with you this CHRISTmas, make sure you thank them and God for bringing it to you.

For the fourth year here on the AoE Countdown to CHRISTmas is an instrumental version (piano) of Carol of The Bells by George Winston. I love the scenes depicted in the video and his version of this song is simply gorgeous. I could listen to this for hours. I love the way it changes throughout the piece and comes round again. It's a more creative version than I've heard. We all need to slow down about this time of year, just about ten days out from CHRISTmas to listen to the sounds of CHRISTMas and remember the beauty of what Jesus did. I'll have another great video tomorrow. Until then... ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ If you liked this post, read…Seven Reasons Why YOU...
This video is making its third appearance here at the countdown. I was introduced to this two years ago and just had to put it in. Can you imagine being at a mall and having this incredible scene unfold?
This is the Opera Company of Philadelphia signing Hallelujah in one of their Random Acts of Culture. Take a look at the faces of those in the "audience."
Enjoy!
