Modern Christmas Terms-Add Yours!

The other day, at 3am, I was thinking...(I know.  Letting the creative juices flow so early in the morning is bound to bring about some pretty Friday Funny things) that many of the Christmas terms we use might be considered outdated.  This is the 21st Century, modern times, the age of computers!   I wondered what would happen if we took a closer look at these Christmas terms to see how our modern kids might interpret them if they didn't already know what they meant.  For example: Mistletoe: A rocket launched from the front of your Turbo Rocketman Tennis Shoes complete with sound effects and a laser light show! Advent: Complaining about those silly Christmas ads you see on TV. Myrrh: When you're too distracted by video games to say Brrr! Try your hand.  Here are a few Christmas terms to get your creative juices flowing: Tinsel Holly Deck the Halls Away in a Manger Shepherds Sleigh 12 Days of Christmas Wise Men Wreath Yuletide Join the fun, but remember that CHRISTmas is about Jesus.  Merry Christmas from the old fashioned folks at Art of Eloquence.com!

Oh, this is great. Tinsel= The cheap stuff that is sold at Christmas time at elevated prices. “Tin-sell”. Very funny, JoJo.

Holly- gone since the day the music died

Deck the Halls- something that should never be done to one of my pastors (Charlie Hall) and his family!

Sleigh- What hopefully all these jokes will do to you!

12 Days of Christmas- Doris, Dorothy, Pat, Sandra, Hap, Laraine, Robin, Bishop William, Captain William, Judge William, and Justice William get together for a Christmas party at Days Inn

    Wise Men- a miracle!

Yuletide- what you use when you get ashes on your white shirt while standing too close to the fire
