Words that bug you

My husband is saying “AMEN”. He thinks I take the long way around EVERY time I say something. I’ve learned to say the final sentence first, then if he’s up to it, I tell the “story” behind it!

“A typical vice of American politics is the avoidance of saying anything real on real issues.”

I am a just the facts person “in theory” but I tell a story from the “beginning of time” because I desire to give the listener all the information!
I agree, that at times we just want to know the how and not necessarily the why. Very good post and something to think about. :)

I think most men are kind of Just the Facts people or there wouldn’t be a Men of Few Words saying.
I’m the same way Felice. It’s only good communication skills to give the story from beginning to end. However some folks don’t know when to abandon that when the situation arises. It’s sometimes tough for some folks to discern the need to abandon full disclosure even upon seeing the frantic face of a passerby yelling…“DO you have the time!”. I’ve seen blank stares come from these passersby when they hear the whole story of how Mr. James Longwinder Jr.’s father gave this watch to him back in 1929 after the stock market crash and he lost all hope during his lean years…

JoJo,
I have to admit I do get frustrated when people give too many details when telling something. I am very much a “just the facts” kind of girl:-)
