Analysis of Romney's Victory Speech

Romney did an excellent job of delivering his victory speech the other day. His focus has changed since becoming the presumptive nominee.  He's now focusing on conservative issues vs President Obama's record instead of spending his time attacking the other Republican candidates.  The other candidates are getting behind him and that is unifying the party.  Further, Romney has learned a few things about being a good speaker in the last few months. In this speech, his timing was good.  He hit all the major issues Republicans are concerned about.  He sounded and looked presidential.  He was gracious and uplifting.  While he didn't sound like Ronald Reagan using wit and humor, he did sound and look remeniscent of Reagan in his uplifting view of hope for the country.  I also think he was rather humble by concentrating his speech on what the American people want and need instead of his qualifications.  He talked more about what he'll do and not who he is. What do you all think? ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ If you liked this post, read…Seven Reasons Why YOU Should Sign Up for the Art of Eloquence Newsletter!

Great points, Carla! I agree about the infighting. It bothered me greatly-not just the differences because they needed to point those out, but the cheap shots and the things that just weren’t true.

I think they should’ve quit the infighting long before they did. Any of them at any time could have spent their time talking about issues instead of attacking each other! It really got to me. Even the advisors were telling them to knock it off, but they didn’t. Yes, Mitt can look and sound presidential. Unfortunately, he doesn’t appeal to everyone. And although there’s no religious test to be president, they’re going to pick his Mormon faith to death and the fact that he is inherently very wealthy. I get really angry at this hate the wealthy stuff. What person in the USA today can get elected to high office if they’re NOT?
