I agree! I used to work at Nordstrom in Fairbanks Alaska – many years ago and that store has a reputation of being gracious and doing anything for the customer – even returning things that had been worn – and looked it! So that behavior is inexcusable!
Customer service is SO important. If I’m not treated right I won’t ever go back.
We need to be like this to everyone we meet – so others that meet us will have wonderful treatment from us. I think you may have given me an idea for a blog JoJo! Thanks!

Yes I think I will always think of that day if I were to go back to Nordstrom.

I will bet, though, that even though you know the managers didn’t approve of that behavior and aim to fix it, you will still have to overcome awkwardness and irritation if you do ever revisit the store. Now they will have to work twice as hard to impress! What a lesson in communication.

Snubbing potential customers is a big no-no if you want to stay in business. I’m glad the management talked it out with you.

Good for you for not letting it go and calling the store! It will save the next person from having to experience this kind of treatment.
