So true! I’ve lived here almost 10 years and I only know two or three of them. Of course, we all have 5-acres by ordinance so it’s not like the homes are close. Still, it seems such a shame. We wave to each other when we pass in the street; that’s about it. I grew up on a Philly block where everybody knew everybody else and the kids all played together, adults got together, etc. If someone was having a to-do in their yard, you could walk right in and nobody would think anything of it. Considering there were about 60 houses on each side of the block, it got pretty lively at times!

That’s how I grew up in NY too. I sure miss that feeling of being a neighborhood.
