The Great Communicator: The Early Years

Usually I have Friday Funnies on my blog, but in honor of the anniversary of Ronald Reagan's death this week, I wanted to share a little known piece of his life: his childhood.  Note how his character was formed at an early age and how he began to train for his title, The Great Communicator.   ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ If you liked this post, read…Seven Reasons Why YOU Should Sign Up for the Art of Eloquence Newsletter

Tammy, I agree. I’ve actually tried to get my studies into the churches. Unfortunately, most were less than receptive.

Regarding the development of his public speaking skills in church: It would be nice if more churches developed programs for young people to teach Sunday school to the younger children and even practice teaching an adult class once in awhile. Those skills help one to truly internalize the Scriptures, as well as developing their communication skills. There are those who are terribly shy who would not want to do this, but for some, it is a good way to begin discipleship and be an active part of their congregations. They can then see that God can use them. Thank you for sharing this.

Thanks! I hadn’t seen this in all the years I’ve been posting about him until I came across it the other day.

Oooooooooooooooooo! That was soooooooooooooo interesting! I find it interesting that he developed his public speaking skills in church. It was a much more important place way back then. His “happy” personality was also formed there. Good stuff!
