Oh, I think you’re right. . . LOL!!! Not for me, though. I never had a problem speaking in public provided it was a subject I knew something about. I had a great speech teacher in college who started us off with using a lot of props to keep our hands busy and we had to do it, initially, on a subject we knew well. I remember my first one. I used an overhead projector to teach the class how to crochet a simple stitch. I had tons of yarn and crochet hooks so I passed out a practice ball and hook to everybody and we all went at it with me standing up there. After that, we progressed to subjects we had to research and then to the dreaded “no props” speech. It was okay! I did a lot of fundraising in my younger days, too. No problem with getting up in front of folks and sticking my hand in their pockets. ROFLOL
