It was sort of Mother’s Day weekend around here. On Saturday, we went up to Sedona on our first vacation day in years. Life was just too expensive in California to afford such things as a vacation, even for a day. We had a ball spending time with my folks, having breakfast at a place called The Coffee Pot and traipsing all over the red rocks of Arizona.

Yesterday morning, my son came into my office with a gift bag from Daddy. It contained a purple squishy wallet, a pair of purple dangly earrings, the movie Fireproof and a purple candle! My son presented me with a purple drawing of our house and the four of us with a note on the top that said “Happy You Day”. lol Later on my dd presented me with a beautiful marquezite heart bracelet she bought for me in Sedona when I wasn’t looking!

At church the message was about mothers, but it was a different sort of Mother’s Day message that spoke of what mothers should do and how God is like that also. I loved that! After church, my dd took me out with my mom (three generations) to a Russian coffee place (she is a Russian and European Studies major at college). We took some pictures I can post when I get them downloaded to the computer.

Then we spent the day at my mom’s house listening to music, playing Scrabble and EATING! My mom’s an incredible cook!

I pray your day was special. Share your Mother’s Day with us here! What’d you do on Mother’s Day?
