Day 10 of the Countdown to CHRISTmas-Heart of CHRISTmas

The video countdown continues with Matthew West and Heart of CHRISTmas! This is a new one on the countdown this year.  I just found this song and I love it.  It speaks to what is at the heart of what CHRISTmas is all about. This is what we all strive to remember as Christians.  It's why I continue to spell it CHRISTmas.  It reminds me to make sure I put Christ back in my CHRISTmas. x x I'll be back tomorrow with another video in the countdown to CHRISTmas.  Until then... Day 9 of the Countdown to CHRISTmas-I Want a Hippopotamus

Today is Friday Funnies and, coincidentally, there have been a few songs/videos through the years that bring humor to CHRISTmas.  Making it's debut on the countdown is the adorable old song, I Want a Hippopotomus for Christmas.  We don't do Santa and I know many of you reading don't either, but this is just an adorable song. I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas is a Christmas novelty song written by John Rox and performed by Gayla Peevey (10 years old at the time) in 1953. The song peaked at number 24 on Billboard magazine's pop chart in December 1953. Remember, too, to have fun and build memories with your family this CHRISTmas.  It's important to communicate what you want-even if others...

Day 6 of the Countdown to CHRISTmas-O Come O Come Emanuel

Day six of the Video Countdown to CHRISTmas brings us to Enya's O Come O Come Emmanuel.  Angelically beautiful version.  I love the choral harmony as well. I've had this one on the countdown for all five years.  It just wouldn't be the Countdown without it. How many times have we been able to make a joyful noise so beautifully to the Lord?  I love to sing along and become one with the choir.  By myself, I may sound nice, but with the choir, I feel so much more.  Isn't that the way it is when we come together as brothers and sisters in the Lord? x Let's all come together this day and make a joyful noise unto the Lord...

Day 5 of the Countdown to CHRISTmas-CHRISTmas Cannon Light Show

Now that we know the words, lets enjoy this laser light show.  Here, again, is the Transiberian Orchestra's CHRISTmas Canon and On This Very CHRISTmas Night. What a blessing these people have in store for those who drive or walk by!   We havne't put up outside lights in several years due to a bad accident my husband had falling off a ladder the last time he did it.  And it can be an expensive way to celebrate this joyous HOLYday, but for those who can do so, it gives the rest of us such joy! x If you liked this post, please subscribe to our RSS feed and share the link…

Day 3 of Countdown to CHRISTmas-Selah's Silent Night

Today's video in the countdown is a one of the most beautiful I've seen.  A visual delight as well as a musical one.  This is a short ballet to the song Silent Night as sung by Selah.  Their rendition is extraordinaryily packed with the reverence for the Lord and the video is a sight to behold. What a wonderous way to stop and think on the Lord and what He has done for us.  What He gave up for us.  And what He continues to do for us. Enjoy this gorgeous video as you reflect on the Lord.  Tomorrow I'll have another wonderful video that will help us all keep Christ in our CHRISTmas.  Until then...
