06/04:  21 Days to More Godly Communication Preview
The say it takes 21 days to make a habit.  21 Days to More Godly Communication is an upcoming study by Art of Eloquence. This show is a preview sharing what God says about how we should communicate with each other. Let’s share how learning to speak in grace as God shares with us in His Word can help us minister and relate to others better. Do you have stories of how grace has helped you communicate with someone? Come share!

06/11:  Cultural Differences in Communication
Are you from another country? Culture? Do you have a different way of communicating because of that cultural difference? Come join us as we talk about how the very same words or gestures may mean something totally different in another culture or country!

06/18:  How to talk to someone who is grieving
Do you know someone who just lost a child? Mother? Was diagnosed with cancer? Has a wayward child? Are your unsure of what to say to them or how to comfort them? Join us this week and find out!

06/25:  Editing Tips for Do It Yourselfers!

Ethel the Editor shares her expertise so you can better self edit your letters, emails, papers, essays and reports.

07/02:  Humor: A Powerful Communication Tool!
Did you ever want to include humor in your speech? Conversation? To break the ice? Do you know when it’s appropriate or inappropriate to use humor? Have you ever pulled a FIMM (Foot in Mouth Man) and stuck your foot in your mouth trying to make a joke? Then this show is for YOU! Besides, it’ll be FUN!

07/09:  Has Technology Ruined Our Communication or Helped It?
What effect has technology had on our communication skills as a nation? Have our skills deteriorated due to texting? Or have we increased our influence in the world through the internet? Come share your thoughts! Open discussion time on Grace Talk Soup.

07/16:  Consequences of Vs Rights of Freedom of Speech
Americans know they have the right to free speech, but what many don’t understand is that there are consequences that come with those rights. You may have the right to disagree with someone, but do you have the right to yell at him? You may have the right to state your beliefs, but don’t others have the right to be offended by what you say? Let’s discuss this fine line between what we have the right to say and the natural consequences of that right.

07/23:  “But you don’t LOOK sick!
Do you or someone you know have a “Silent Illness?” Do people say, “But you don’t LOOK sick!” and therefore they treat you as if you are lying or complaining about nothing? How do you communicate your needs and your illness to those who don’t understand? Come join us as we discuss this frustrating issue.

07/30:  Frequently Misused Words
Grab your kids too for this one! Our own Ethel the Editor takes us through a list of frequently misused words and explains the proper usage, why they are commonly misused. In her creatively unique and amusing style, Ethel will share her expertise in this area so prepared to have some fun!

* Testimonials:
“This show always has such good information and interesting guest speakers. The format is excellent, and I find out things here (particularly things that affect the speech rights of Christians) that the ‘regular’ news won’t cover. Keep up the good work!” –Joan

“I love Jojo’s sweet spirit. She is helping us to speak with grace and eloquence and showing us how to glorify God in our relationships. She has a wonderful ministry. I enjoyed her Birthday Bash and the last interview with the author of The Love Dare. We Christians need to hear what Jojo has to say!” –PennyMarie

“I am really enjoying listening to this newly found talk show. I added their widget on my sidebard. I really recommend it. It has been such an encouragement to me in my Christian walk. I am listening to the current one right now in the Defending the Faith Mini Series: “I’m a good person, why do I need God?” SOoooooo good.” –Natalie

Christians: You need to be on this call tomorrow morning!

gts-logo-thumbnail3Say What You Mean Defending the Faith is the most important communication study I have ever written.  Having grown up in an Atheist home (of Jewish decent), I have a unique insight into what unbelievers need to hear about the Lord.  It’s not just about what to say but how we say it: respectfully and in grace. Also that we fully answer the questions they have one on one and not with a one-size-fits-all line or tract.

All this month on Grace Talk Soup, Carla and I have been sharing tips for answering four of the most common questions and misconceptions the world has about Jesus.  You can go back in the past show audios to listen to the past shows.  This week answers the issue many have about the Bible: Men wrote the Bible and Men Make Mistakes.

We will not only answer this question for you but give you tips on just  HOW to share it with unbelievers.  Not only will this help you share your faith with others as God commands us, but it will build YOUR faith as well when you see the great care and trouble these men went to in order to preserve the Word of God!

Come join us!  And please forward this information to your friends and family, especially your teens!  Remember that we are still having a contest to win a free copy of SWM Defending the Faith so please email me when you post: gts@artofeloquence.com

Grace Talk Soup Mania!

gts-logo-thumbnail1I’ve been hosting Grace Talk Soup for over two years now and the listenership and popularity have been steadily growing…until NOW!

In the last few months since my dear friend, Carla Ives, has taken the co-pilot’s seat, Grace Talk Soup’s popularity has soared!  Last month we had the most number of downloads and live participants in the ENTIRE HISTORY of Grace Talk Soup!  In the first three days of this month (May 09), the show had more downloads than it did for several of it’s entire months prior to Carla joining me!  We even have a Grace Talk Soup fan club over on Facebook that has over 400 members!

We have had a weekly contest on the show asking listeners to help us get the word out and I have seen Grace Talk Soup links all over the net including Facebook and Twitter!

Several days ago we were contacted by Internet Radio Magazine.com asking to interview us about the show.  It came out the other day and Carla blogged about it on LifeLoveandLunacy.blogspot.com!

Carla has added some much needed focus and fun to the show the likes of which is turning heads all over the net.  And this is only the beginning!  Grace Talk Soup fans can look forward to even more creative fun with Lucy Linguist and Ethel the Editor in their I Love Language segments on Grace Talk Soup in the future!

How do you like the new format?  Please leave a comment letting us know and giving us any ideas you have for upcoming communication topics you’d like to see!

Christianity in the News today on Grace Talk Soup

gts-logo-thumbnail4

Did you know that the mainstream media doesn’t report on violations of Freedom of Speech where it involves a Christian? Do you that the UN considers your rights as a parent negotiable? What are the latest news items Christians need to be aware of? Come join us as we discuss them and how we should react?

Today on Grace Talk Soup, I’m going to address a few of the latest issues in the news that are important to the Christian community.

* Why is it important that we know about these issues?

* Why doesn’t the main stream media report them?

* Why aren’t more Christians speaking up?

* How do Christians react to these issues and why is that important?

* What problem with not speaking up?

Latest News Stories:

* Miss California question reveals her Christian beliefs on marriage and sets off a rant from one of the judges.

* President Obama asks that all Christian symbols be draped while he is making his speech at Notre Dame

* Homeland Security memo that was only to go to law enforcement states that returning military, conservatives and those who are pro life are “primary” threats to national security and potential domestic terrorits

* Hate Crimes bill that could silence pastors

How do you feel about these issues?  Why are they important for our future?  What is the effect on a Christian’s free speech and religious freedom?  How should Christians react and what is the problem if we react the wrong way?  Come share your thoughts.

Godly Leadership on Tomorrow’s Grace Talk Soup Show!

gts-logo-thumbnail3God’s Kingdom needs Godly leaders!  In order to fulfill this role, a Godly leader needs to understand what a leader really is.  Not only does he need to understand the mission and what is required, but he needs to be able to convey its benefits to others and that he is capable of leading others to that eventuality.

In my upcoming book, The Language of Leadership, I will explore what a leader looks like, what a leader sounds like, what a leader says, what a leader isn’t, how to convey leadership, what to do to show others you can lead, the 16 Biblical qualities of a leader and how to convey confidence when you’re not quite so confident that what you must do will be well-received.

A leader is not someone who is simply “in charge” for I have known many a boss who had no idea how to lead those under his authority.  A leader is not someone who is always right, as there are many great leaders who have failed.  A leader is not someone who is merely popular.  How many times in history have great leaders needed strength to overcome the popular thinking of the time?  A leader is not someone who is bossy.  Being in charge does give you the right to demand of your underlings, but only true leadership will bring peace and cooperation and stability to a situation.

For an overview and tips for leadership, tune into Grace Talk Soup this Thursday 8am PDT/11am EDT!  Bring your teens and please share this link with others!

Who will benefit from this show?

* Teens looking to cultivate leadership skills for college, the job market, business or missions.

* Those looking for career advancement.

* Those wanting to enhance their abilities to complete God’s missions for their lives.
