The Lord talks about our mouths, our words, and our tongues hundreds of times in the Bible! More often than not, God tells us to be careful with our words or to hold our tongues because He knows just how sinful they can be.  “He who guards his mouth preserves his life, But he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction.” -Proverbs‬ ‭13:3‬ ‭ How many times have you wanted to say something but held your tongue because you knew it would be hurtful? For God hath not given us a spirit of fear

I wrote this some time ago. I share why I'm so passionate about helping people overcome shyness and social anxiety. Part of it is because God did not give us a spirit of fear and part of it is because I lived it and it was so painful.  “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” -2 Timothy 1:7 KJV Fear in speaking with others is timidity or what we call shyness.  According to Webster’s dictionary, shyness means “sensitive and hesitant in dealing with others”.  This is not the spirit of power that should be present inside the Christian for we know that with the Lord all things...
