Can you spot the error?

Yesterday on Grace Talk Soup, I was talking about how seriously the scribes were about copying the Bible and how amazingly accurate it is.  I mentioned how difficult it is to proof your own work and how even with a good editor, it's hard not to find an error. I shared how my daughter found some errors on Stanford University's website.  What I didn't have time to mention is this very funny picture we found of one of the SAT prep books we considered purchasing for her. Can you spot why we didn't? Communication errors can cost!

My life is funny!

My friend Carla has been telling me for years to record some videos and put 'em up on YouTube.  Why?  Because my life is funny and it usually illustrates why effective communication is so vital! So yesterday my dd and I were watching Chonda Pierce videos on YouTube and laughing our collective tushies off.  She turns to me last night and says, "You should be a stand up comedian!"  Well, my life is funny and I do love to tell a good story!  My son is always laughing at the way I present his homeschool lessons and, occasionally and out of the blue, he'll say, "Say something funny!" Christians: You need to be on this call tomorrow morning!

Say What You Mean Defending the Faith is the most important communication study I have ever written.  Having grown up in an Atheist home (of Jewish decent), I have a unique insight into what unbelievers need to hear about the Lord.  It's not just about what to say but how we say it: respectfully and in grace.
