Weird Scrabble Contest

I’ll just bet you weren’t aware, but this is National Scrabble Week and it’s also Weird Contest Week.  In honor of both, we’re having a Weird Scrabble Contest.  In true Scrabble style, we are asking you to find words among the following random letters you might have if you were allowed this many letters when playing Scrabble.

RULES:

1. From among the letters listed here, find all the possible you might put down on a Scrabble board if it were your turn.  All the words have to have something to do with communication.  For each word, you cannot reuse letters unless there are more than one of that letter listed (just like it is in real Scrabble).  Each word is a new turn so all the letters you used for the previous word come back and are able to be used for the next word.

2. Post your words in one comment at the bottom of this blog post.  Make sure you leave your first and last name and an email address so we can contact you should you be our winner.

3. You have until midnight PST tonight (August 6th, 2012) to post your answers.  The one who finds the most words will win a gift from Art of Eloquence.

YOUR LETTERS:

QROFOUENLEIENGUMPTANCIWDKYSMC

We’re having another Contest!

Did you know that June is Effective Communications Month?  I wrote about it last week on my Examiner column.  Since communication technology has changed so much in the past few decades, I’m going to be writing articles on my column about the influence of each type of communication technology and how you can best take advantage of it.

To kick off Effective Communications Month here on the blog, I am starting off with another quarterly contest!  This one is a YouTube Contest.  Here’s how it works:

1. Go to the Art of Eloquence channel on YouTube and subscribe (if you are not already a subscriber).

2. Write a comment on any one of the videos you like.

3. Come back here and leave a comment that you have done so.

That’s it!

The winner will be chosen from among the comments on this blog post so make sure you do come back and leave one.  I’ll be notifying the winner via email so make sure you list your email address.  The winner will receive one Art of Eloquence product of his or her choice!  Contest ends Sunday night. Winner will be announced/notified by Monday.

Good luck everyone!  And please share this blog post. The more the merrier!

In this set of 5 audios, you will hear everything from an overview of the method, to the nitty gritty how-to’s for subjects you want to cover. Sit with Sue as she lays out all the parts of a Charlotte Mason style education, and tells you how you can achieve a rich, powerful, exciting, and less stressful home and school for you and your children. These sessions were recorded in front of a live audience and include some question and answer times as well. You can get your children snuggled up with a great audio drama, or a great movie, or a great game – then retreat into your own room for your own time of refreshing. You can listen at your own pace, and then keep on hand to refer to it again and again – the audios never expire! A Charlotte Mason education is always up to date!”

  • Rejected by Israeli Immigration
  • Tormented by unending court trials
  • Reported on by major international news media
(Time, Newsweek, CNN, The New York Times, The Washington Post)

Gary and Shirley Beresford never wanted to be heroes. A middle-aged Messianic Jewish couple from South Africa, they felt God calling them to live in Israel, the Promised Land. Wanting nothing more than to live quietly and grow old together in the country of refuge for all Jewish people, little did they suspect what events would follow to try their faith.
