We interrupt this blog to bring you this Public “Survey” Announcement! LOL
My husband and I went over the marketing plans for Art of Eloquence for next quarter. The topic of pay per click advertising on Facebook came up again and we thought we’d get your input. If you have a minute, we’d love it if you’d answer 4 questions for us.
1. If you are on Facebook, do you notice the ads at all?
2. If you do notice Facebook ads, have you ever clicked on one?
3. If you saw an ad on Facebook for a company you knew and liked, would you be likely to click on it?
4. Do you think we should advertise on Facebook? Why or why not?
Please leave us your responses and ANY other comments with your thoughts about our advertising on Facebook. We’d LOVE your input!
In fact, we’d love to get as much input on this as possible so….if you have any friends who are on Facebook, would you please send this link to them and ask them to take this quick survey? As the Bartles and James commercials used to say, “Thanks again for your support!” ;D
You may now return to your regularly scheduled blog!
1. Yes
2. Maybe just once
3. No, but I would probaly look up their website and go there through Google (I’m weird like that).
4. I don’t know enough about the costs to offer an opinion- sorry!
1. Yes
2. Yes
3. Yes
4. Yes, mainly for the sheer numbers who use Facebook. The ads ARE targeted, however. They know I’m a history fanatic so, most days, Stonewall Jackson’s face is staring right at me! They also know I’m an addicted knitter and there’s usually some type of exotic yarn begging me to buy it on top of Stonewall. It’s still a numbers game, though. I think there would be lots who would click on AOE ads on FB!!!!
I very seldom notice the adds and have only clicked on a few of them EVER. I’m sure those adds are keeping us all up and running on FB so perhaps we’d all better start paying more attention. I had google ads on my old blog but it didn’t seem to generate much either. Let us all know how it goes. Your survey is a good one. I’d suggest you post it on Sodahead.com
I’ve noticed and even clicked on ads before. Most of them were junk but a few were legit. If I knew the company and liked them I would click but now I am leary about clicking on unknowns since they’ve ended up being junk so far. It wouldn’t hurt to advertsise on FB. Most people aren’t as skeptical about that as I am. IMHO.
1. Yes
2. No
3. I’m not big on clicking anyone’s ads. But that’s just me.
4. Yes, because you could target to your desired market. Yes, because it’s cheap advertising. No, because I’m not sure of its effectiveness. Yes, because it increases name recognition, which increases trust in your company.
I found a couple of articles on the subject:

I usually never see them – and if I do for a moment – I never click on them ?
1. Yes. I usually find them annoying or disconcerting.
2. Once or twice, but I am much more inclined to find the company through another search engine.
3. No, because if I know and like that company, I’m already familar with them and their site. I’ll go to Google and search, or just go to the website I already know.
4. I couldn’t say if you should use FB advertising or not. It seems to work for other companies though. Based purely on numbers and the fact the advertisements are targeted for a particular audience, can you really go wrong? You could give it a trial period with a realistically set goal, then see if it works.
1. yes
2. yes
3. yes
4. I think it would be worth giving it a try JoJo. Marketing certainly isn’t my strong point, but it would give you a lot of exposure, I think.
Keep on keeping on.
Thanks for your input everyone! Keep it coming. We think we might give it a try and see how it goes.
