I get the strangest questions

A long while back I received an email that came through my website contact form: "hi there - I am trying to find biblical quotes for each subject at school. I am stuck on IT and computing!! Any ideas please? thanks very much" I think I responded with something like, "Are you serious?"  Never heard back from this person. What say you?  Was this a joke or not? ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ If you liked this post, read…Seven Reasons Why YOU Should Sign Up for the Art of Eloquence Newsletter

At first thought, this does seem a little absurd. And yet, it does intrigue me that someone might actually want to tie our current technological levels in with scripture. Certainly a challenge for a person who is extremely adept and creative at thinking ‘outside the box’!

You do get the strangest of emails. Who knows, maybe they were serious, but not serious enough to follow up on it.

That’s a good point, Carla. I was thinking she might be looking for scriptures that COULD apply to IT or computers, rather than the topics being specifically mentioned in the Bible.

Hmmm. . . I’d think it was a serious request. Maybe not followed up on because she thought you couldn’t find any? Or maybe she realized it was somewhat futile? I think for computer stuff, I’d use one of those verses about God’s plans and man’s plans being different. Boy, are they at times. . . especially with this thing I’m typing on! :)

Dawn, I agree. If they were really serious, they would have followed up…unless they got their answer elsewhere or something.

Elaine, that’s exactly where I was with it. First thought it was a silly question, but then I started thinking and wondered if they were truly seeking answers. I guess I’ll never know.
