Childhood's Favorite TV Show

Monday Q of the Wk. Here’s how it works: Each Monday I ask a thought provoking question about life.  Pose the same question to your blog readers on your own blog along with your answer to the question.  Then come back here and post a comment with a link to your blog post so we can all read everyone’s answers!  It’s been a lot of fun getting to know my readers and their readers and so on and so on… This week’s question: Which TV show do you remember most from when you were a kid and why? JoJo’s Answer: What I remember most is watching the original Star Trek with my dad.  We would say the opening dialog together each show..."To boldly go where no man has gone BEFORE!"  My dad would point out the discrepancies in science.  We would discuss the social and moral implications of the week's topic.  We would laugh about William Shatner's acting ability.  We would look for the inconsistencies in plot and scene cuts. It was my Daddy/Daughter time and it was special.  It's not the silly things you do together, it's the memories you make and the time spent talking and sharing and building a relationship that you treasure. Which TV show do you most remember from your childhood and why? Post your answers on your blog and come back here and put your link in so we can read it!  If you don’t have a blog, just post your answers here. Learning Communication skills can also be fun with Art of Eloquence.com!

I loved Little House, too! It’s still one of my faves of all time. It’s so wholesome and shows how a family should treat each other.

My favorite TV show growing up was Shirley Temple. I remember it came on every Saturday morning after the cartoons and I couldn’t wait to watch. I still think to this day that she was the best child movie star. “Shirley” no one is like her today, I mean come on, “Hannah Montana” is what we have to offer our little girls today??? Big difference.

The Waltons, Little House on the Prairie, Mutual of Omaha and National Geographic specials.

The Walton’s because I always resented being a part time only child (I had a half sister who came over every other weekend) and I LOVED that Grandma & Grandpa Walton lived with them.

Little House because I wanted to BE Laura! She was a girl but she acted a lot like a boy and she got to run around the countryside doing all sorts of things, and her Ma & Pa still loved her.

I watched Mutual of Omaha and National Geographic specials with my grandparents during summer visits. It was not my favorite thing then but it brings back special memories now.

Yes, me too!! I loved watching Shirley Temple every Saturday morning. It was waaaaaaay back then that I got the notion of going to finishing school. Frankly, I don’t know if those types of schools still exist or if they’re called something else. I grew up with that one thought and dream of going to finishing school. I never made it to that type of school, but somewhere toward the end of college God gave me a “private tutor” who “drilled” and groomed me in the fine art of being a lady.

I still enjoy the old black and white shows the best.
